my buddies...

just because i moved out of the engstrom's house doesn't mean i don't still see them all the time. i mean how can you resist these faces?

today reece and gavin got to come over too while i was there and needless to say there was lots of fighting! gavin didn't want his picture taken, but here are micah and reece.

roomie run...

not too long after i moved in with the engstroms, i started training for a 1/2 marathon. one day when i was leaving to go on a run, gtb wanted to go with me. i told him that he couldn't because i was going too far.  he told me that it was okay because when he wore his puma's he was really fast.  i chuckled and told him that he still couldn't go.  this became an ongoing joke, where he asked if he could go and i usually teased him by saying no but i was wearing his pumas.  he always checks my feet to make sure before i leave (he got me puma's for christmas ps).

well this past saturday, we were out playing in the front yard and i told him that i needed to go for a run and i would be back.  he then, as usual, asked if he could go.  this time i surprised him by saying yes.  he got so excited, ran inside and put on shorts and his pumas!  but that is not all folks, he also grabbed his iphone (an old hand me down - don't judge) and headphones. and he did that on his own, with no prompting. i said, "oh we need to take a picture!" he then proceeded to tell me that he had a camera on his phone and could take care of it. i couldn't help but laugh! 

olivia did snap a picture of us before we left and gtb wanted us down in the ready position. so here we are.

our run was around the corner and back (i did not make him go 5 miles). as were were walking back in the house he said, "that was a good run. now let's have some gatorade." too cute!

undies...

so if you come our house and meet my roomies GTB and deuce, one of the first things GTB is going to want to do is teach you his, excuse me, our favorite game - undies. we play it ALL the time. it started a few months ago, when i was in my room innocently working. before i knew it was attacked by a 3 year old throwing his clean underwear at me.  i then proceeded to throw them back and some how eventually they ended up on my ceiling fan and now it is officially a game.  often (as you will notice in the video, shake your booty by kc and the sunshine band is playing in the background. deuce LOVES this song.  and just to clarify any possible confusion, we only play with GTB's clean underwear, no one elses. :) check out this game and take notes, because if you come over, its almost a guarantee we will play. enjoy.

because of this game, i am definitely looking for ceiling fans when looking at rental homes... :)

just a fun night in october...

so tonight i had some friends over to hang out with me and the roomies (minus todd, he sadly is out of town and had to miss the fun). the night started with this....

after an epic battle with the superheroes (yes we all sword fought and there were lasers and light sabers too), we got to work carving some pumpkins. and here was our result...

we still have 2 pumpkins left to carve. hopefully we will finish those out tomorrow. hope you are having a fun october!

it has been awhile since i have blogged.  i have some posts in the works, but just can't find that spare time to finish them out yet.  until then, here is picture of some fun to hold you over.

Someone's been here...

i just walked into my room tonight and found this. i have my suspicions...

new roomies...

so may was a whirlwind of a month for me. in addition to being crazy busy at work, i moved!  this move was a big deal for a couple of reasons:


number one: 
i left these girls, whom i love!  cassie and i have lived together since i moved to austin and rachel was one of my first friends at austin stone. though i know we will still hang out, it will not be the same and i will miss them greatly!

number two:
i got to move in with some other good friends of mine and their two little boys!!  the engstroms have been some of my good friends since i moved here.  todd is on staff with me and olivia and i have not only read through systematic theology together (yes all of it) but we have caused a lot of fun and thrown many parties together. something that i am sure will happen even more often now that i am living in the guest room.  i do love todd and olivia, but one of the biggest highlights for me is getting to live with Gus the Bus (3years) and Deuce the Caboose (1 year)!  i have already become a better sword fighter and fighter of bad guys.  i also have perfected the art of handing deuce back to his mama before he vomits - thus keeping myself clean. how cute are these guys!

number three:
this move marked the end of a season and the beginning of another.  i moved in with the engstrom clan to save money so that i could pay off debt faster. once my debt is paid off, i plan to take the classes i need to in order to adopt and then move in a place of my own, do a home study and then adopt.  so essentially, this was the last time i would have "normal" roommates.  that is it.  exciting and weird all at the same time.  i have been talking about adoption for awhile now, and as i started taking these first concrete steps it has really hit me. i am more excited than ever and more nervous than ever.  we will see what happens over this next year.  CRAZY!  but until then, i will have a blast living with my new roomies (as Gus the Bus calls me).
