so lately i have had been pretty tired and have needed some extra motivation to run. normally when i work out i listen to lecrae if i need some energy added, but i think i am becoming bored with the same ol' songs. so i started listening to podcasts. sometimes this is hard when i am running. it tends to just be background noise. but if i am on the elyptical or the bike, i could work out for hours when listening. the downside is that sometimes i am convicted or comforted by the sermon which puts me on the verge of tears while working out. in fact the other day, while listening to a sermon by piper on psalm 42, i started crying. i was able to keep from sobbing, but there were still many tears. good thing i could pass the tears off as sweat and that i am red and blotchy when i work out normally.
but when i run, i have needed something new to keep me going on that treadmill so early in the morning. well i have found it. i choose a treadmill in front of at tv with sportscenter and i put some ghettofabulous rap music in my ears. i watch the basketball highlights and run my heart out. yes, some times i envision myself on the court dominating just like they are on tv. i picture myself coming out and playing basketball to this music and i can run forever. now the humorous part this (as if this is not already funny) is that i was cut from basketball in 7th grade. the coach told me to pursue other sports. i think it is still a dream of mine to play basketball. perhaps when i finish growing and reach the height of 5'6" at least, i will have a chance. but until then, i will keep dreaming and running.

Becca...I am so glad you have found some motivation. I am still stuck on my couch! you are an inspiration to my non existent work outs. I was also told to pursue other things when I was in ballet for a year! We all have our strengths and weaknesses I guess!
